Organic Solvent Nanofiltration (OSN) by means of special membrane technology is the new method of choice for separating even small molecules of different sizes at room temperature. OSN can be applied to several separation processes in organic solvents in order to clean active ingredients in a particularly gentle way or to exchange or further process solvents.

With DuraMem® and PuraMem® membranes, Evonik offers high-performance, polyimide-based membranes for use in a wide range of solvents. Furthermore, a regulatory support file has been created for the DuraMem® membranes making them suitable for FDA- and cGMP-certified processes.
